Kia Ora. This is Stick News.
Tomorrow the Japanese government is set to enact a revised law that will give them more power in the fight against plastic bags.
There are 722 people in the Diet in Japan.
Like politicians in most countries, they spend their time rambling and passing silly laws. But it’s not all talking bollocks … sometimes they pass excellent laws.
In Japan, a ridiculous amount of plastic is used. To fight against this wastefulness, the government is revising a law called The Containers and Packaging Recycling Law.
Under the revised law, the government will have more powers to harass supermarkets about reducing the use of plastic shopping bags.
And that was Stick News for Thursday the 15th of June.
